 The Mission of the National Episcopal Church Women is: "Centered in congregations, the Episcopal Church Women empowers women to do Christ's ministry in the world."   ECW is really an umbrella name (not implying over, but rather around) for women's ministries in parishes, whether they are called Guilds, ECW, Women’s Ministries or any other group name. The ECW is a national organization and can be used as a resource for information, advice, publicity and inspiration and for support in everything that the women choose to undertake. One Diocese divides their activities into one-third Inreach, one-third Outreach and one-third Spiritual; another gives away its entire endowment income and relies on donations from parish ECWs for its operating income; others are a line item in the Diocesan Budget - we are all different!
